Spend three nights in Hue and three in Hoi An, visiting markets, garden houses, craft workshops and kitchens that remain part of everyday life in central Vietnam.
Travel between the two cities over Hai Van Pass, with one focused Da Nang stop when it adds to the journey. Meals and hands-on visits are spaced through the week rather than filling every day with tastings or workshops.
Hue supplies imperial memory, garden culture and a quieter rhythm; the Hai Van crossing opens the coast before Hoi An shifts the story toward trade, craft and shared meals.
Meet the local team in Hue and transfer to the hotel. Check in and keep the rest of the day free, with an optional short walk near the river when arrival time allows.
Begin at Hue's Imperial City, walking through the former court and ceremonial centre. After a shaded break, continue to Dong Ba Market or a selected local meal, where ingredients and dishes show how court influence became part of the city's everyday cooking.
Move into the Kim Long garden-house area for a pre-arranged family visit, with time to see the architecture, gardens and household spaces. Continue to one maker or small workshop when access is confirmed, then keep the later afternoon free.
Leave Hue and travel south through Lang Co and over Hai Van Pass, stopping for coastal views along the way. In Da Nang, visit the Museum of Cham Sculpture before continuing to Hoi An and checking in.
Start at a local market, then walk into Hoi An's former trading streets and merchant quarter. A selected food stop introduces the regional ingredients and trading influences found in the town, with the later afternoon free.
Spend the morning with one craft or cooking host whose scale suits the group. Join the hands-on activity and share the resulting meal where appropriate, then return to Hoi An with the afternoon open.
Transfer from Hoi An to Da Nang airport according to the onward flight. Luggage storage or a day room can be arranged for a late departure.
